Please follow the link below to Dorset Council Planning on the Dorsetforyou website and enter West Dorset and then the parish that you wish to look at. All planning applications (and most past applications) are now on line at this location and it is possible to look at the status of new applications, those pending and those approved plus a history of applications in past years. The website is not too good and needs a redesign to make it more user friendly !

You can also make comments on applications but read the notes carefully beforehand and it must be understood that all such comments (and any letters submitted) will be published on this public website. Do not make personal comments about any applicant(s).

The Parish Council regularly monitor all planning applications in both parishes. These applications are discussed at parish council meetings and comments / objections posted on the Dorsetforyou website. We also investigate some planning matters with the assistance of our Dorset Councillor and West Dorset MP.

From September 2022, we understand that all larger development applications have been "put on hold" temporarily due to pollution concerns in the Poole Harbour catchment area. Our area drains into this via the South Winterbourne and Frome rivers. This is still in force at February 2024.
