Bus Service Reinstatement

Winterbourne Steepleton and Martinstown have been without a bus service for several years despite the X51 service still running along the A35 from Dorchester to Winterbourne Abbas and Bridport and beyond.

A bus survey was undertaken by Les Scarth of Martinstown in 2022 and submitted to Dorset Council. In May 2024 with the assistance of our local MP Chris Loder, a trial reinstatement was agreed with the bus company and buses started to run through the villages on 12th May 2024.
